Designed for officers with proven operational experience and strong technical backgrounds, the program is designed to help prepare students to master the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and apply them to mission-relevant challenges.
Students who enroll in the 24-month program will learn the core concepts of AI, as well as applications to special topics such as:
- Decision making for war-games
- AI for manufacturing and design with special emphasis on navy applications
- AI for marine autonomy of surface and underwater vehicles
The inaugural cohort of students for this new program will obtain a Master of Science degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, as well as an AI certificate from the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing. Participants must take at least 12 classes and complete a thesis.
